Running with the Wolves was released by the label Decca Records in May 2015 and received a lot of praise by music journalists and media. Half the World Away, by the Oasis band to promote John Lewis Christmas advertisements and Nature Boy, by Nat King Cole are two of the best covers of the artist. She gained some further recognition thanks to a Facebook post from Katy Perry where Perry endorsed the song Runaway. Happy birthday to her. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical memories involve finding a piano hidden within her attic, then becoming fascinated with the sounds it created. Parents May-Britt as well as Jan Oystein Aksnes encouraged her to study music, not for professional or as a pastime, but as a way to develop. She began to write with her own music. Her sources include renowned writers Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan, as well as her affinity with Bjork's style. She began performing her songs publicly when her mother said they might help others not to gain fame with the work she does, but to help everyone else realize the importance of their work and how they could impact the world. She started playing piano at age six and writing music at age nine. It wasn't until she was 14 when she first told her parents. Aurora did not have a set goal. She says she just likes music and writing. According to her, music is her favourite way to feel anything.
